Rovers sink Boro
Tranmere took another step towards safety with a 3-0 win which severly dented Stevenage's play-off hopes.
Rovers went ahead through a second-minute goal from Jake Cassidy, who scrambled the ball home from close range after Chris Day saved John Welsh's effort.
They went 2-0 up after 12 minutes with Cassidy, on loan from Wolves, heading in from an Andy Robinson corner.
Stevenage had chances but Owain Fon Williams blocked a shot by Jordan Slew, who later fired wide from the angle.
Substitutes Patrick Agyemang and Craig Reid could not make an impact and instead Tranmere sewed things up when Lucas Akins thumped in a Welsh cross in the 77th minute.
