Lawrie Wilson scored both goals for the hosts to wipe out Ashley Grimes' first-half penalty.
"It's been a great effort from the lads and they've been rewarded for their bravery and tenacity today," Westley said.
"We'd spoken a lot during the week, and worked on all sorts of things in training, but in the end I suppose it's all been worth it when you emerge with a result like this.
"I think we deserved to win. We had them pined back at times and we were good in possession.
"The threat was always there from us. On another afternoon we might even have scored one or two more."
